EEL CiRCUS
The band with the suspicious name and even more suspicious T-shirt campaign. EEL CiRCUS was the first band I was ever a part of. Formed way back when we were all around 16-18 years of age. Steve Mueller, Steve Thoms, and myself were the core of a group that was visited upon by three drummers: Sean Walsh, Tim Reaume, and the brief appearance of Scott Joris.
EEL CiRCUS released two cassettes (yes we used cassettes back in those days, CD burners were not readily available). The first one featured Sean Walsh on drums and some rather meaty guitar sounds coming out of 38 watt amp. The second was released shortly after the band broke up and received limited distribution. It contained the last few songs recorded with Sean Walsh, as well as some material recorded with Tim Reaume (including the live material), and one track with Scott Joris.
Back in a time when it was still hip to check out local music, EEL CiRCUS and Lanky shows were the place to be (even if it was only at the Acapulco Delight).
The entire EEL CiRCUS collection (outtakes and all) has been delicately remastered by James Tiller and spans four CDs (we had a lot of outtakes). I'll try and get as much up here as I can. And for those of you that were there, our entire performance from Vincent Massey was recorded and is on these CDs. Take that Spring Fling!
